Types of Mobilization
About Mobilization
Mobilization is applied to stretch the soft tissues and or separate articular joints.
Mobilization of joints promotes mobility, reduces edema and muscle spasm , increases
proprioceptive reflexes, breaks up adhesions in fibrotic tissue and temporarily
immobilizes or splints parts. The forces of mobilization have a profound effect on joint
receptors and there response changes in joint position and tensile strength. The primary
effects of mobilization are extra-capsular.
